Hi, my name is PJ and I’m a photographer … Welcome to my world.
My dad introduced me to this wonderful addiction and even though he’s now passed, I think of him often as I snap away.
I love photography because it is all about memories. Where we’ve been, what we were doing and who we were doing it with! And I love telling a story so it’s just natural that I’m a wedding photographer. I’m also a hopeless romantic. I like the whole marriage thing. Making commitments, catching up with family and friends … It’s such a wonderful time and such a great event – I never tire of being a participant.
I’m not a writer (can you tell?). But I am a musician of sorts. Bass is my groove and I have a 4 string Ricky & 4 string Rick McKee fretless which I love to get lost on. I play with whomever will put up with me! In addition to the occasional jazz gig, I play in the group Shades of Gray. And although we are not twenty somethings, the name has nothing to do with our hair color! Shades of Gray is fronted by the amazing vocalist Audrey Arellano. She is just amazing. Period.
My two sons are both artists. They are both photographers and seem to have inherited any and all of the available talent from my wife Cathy. We are always amazed how creative they both are. My older son Reuben is one of my second shooters while Ian is the future film maker.
Lastly, we as a family are cat people. In spite of being attacked twice by dogs, I harbor no ill will towards canines. I/we just prefer the independent nature of cats. Sadly, we lost our beloved “Milky”. She was as sweet as could be. My son Ian captured her so beautifully with his Nikon thereby ensuring us of wonderful memories.
And that’s why I do what I do. I capture memories before they get away. From time to time, I’ll toss in my own memories as well as those of my clients.
